A poem for International Day of Happiness
By Dominique Mitchell.
I chew on a soft piece of warm buttered bread.
His hand slips into mine,
we exchange a smile,
the bus drives by.
I watch the sun rise.
Six of us sit around a camp fire.
The tents whimper under the bellowing winds,
we chat and laugh and ignore their cries.
I put pen to paper and explore another’s life.
